This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee all employee benefit programs for U.S. and Canadian staff, including medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, retirement savings, life insurance, disability, AD&D, critical illness, accident, and other voluntary benefits.
• Accurately and promptly process enrollments, life events, terminations, and eligibility changes.
• Conduct audits of benefit transactions across Workday, payroll, carriers, and third-party vendors.
• Address enrollment discrepancies and eligibility concerns.
• Assist in the planning, testing, execution, communication, and reconciliation of the annual open enrollment process.
• Facilitate the implementation of new benefit programs and plan modifications.
• Act as the primary resource for employee and manager inquiries regarding benefits and leave programs.
• Investigate and resolve complex benefit-related issues with vendors, carriers, payroll, and internal stakeholders.
• Create and maintain benefits knowledge articles, FAQs, and resources for employees.
• Oversee U.S. leave administration and manage Canadian statutory leave programs.
• Handle leave workflows, return-to-work activities, leave timelines, status changes, and supplemental pay calculations.
• Manage disability administration and employee communications throughout the leave lifecycle.
• Support benefits processes, eligibility rules, event processing, security, system testing, audits, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with HRIS and Payroll to resolve system issues and enhance processes.
• Assist with vendor implementations, renewals, operational transitions, carrier file testing, and eligibility file management.
• Manage workers' compensation administration, claims tracking, reporting, payroll impacts, and return-to-work processes.
• Support benefits reporting, audits, annual compliance activities, plan documentation, notices, and employee communications.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Develop operational metrics and analyze trends in employee inquiries, leave utilization, and performance.
• Engage in benefits projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, particularly in benefits or people operations.
• Experience in administering benefits in both the U.S. and Canada.
• Preferred HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CHRP, CHRL).
• Proficient in administering HRIS platforms, particularly Workday.
• Solid understanding of health and welfare benefit administration.
• Knowledge of retirement plan administration.
• Familiarity with leave of absence and disability management.
• Understanding of benefits compliance regulations in the U.S. and Canada.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Capability to reconcile data across various systems and vendors.
• Ability to manage multiple systems and vendor platforms effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
