Senior Behavioral Health Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver thorough project management and strategic oversight for the Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Center initiative and other designated rural health programs.

• Provide direct behavioral health and substance use disorder technical support to rural organizations.

• Act as the primary subject matter expert in Behavioral Health and SUD/OUD.

• Supervise the creation of training materials and resources leveraging rural and behavioral health knowledge.

• Facilitate alignment meetings with the primary grant organization and regional stakeholders.

• Co-chair the program advisory committee.

• Manage progress reports, data collection, and documentation for funding agreements and federal/state grants.

• Assist in or take the lead on grant proposal development.

• Design and oversee interprofessional, community-focused internship and clerkship programs.

• Directly supervise, mentor, and assess program staff, coordinators, and interns.

• Distribute tasks and manage resources among programs and staff.

• Formulate recruitment strategies and attract participants from rural healthcare and community mental health organizations.

• Conduct outreach and engagement efforts throughout the NERHA network.

• Involve executive leadership in rural organizations concerning the ROTA program and NERHA.

• Organize program-specific events and incorporate specialized content into the annual NERHA Rural Health Conference.

• Create and execute outreach and communication strategies, including promotional materials, marketing efforts, newsletters, training resources, and digital campaigns.

• Evaluate project performance, track deliverables, identify areas for improvement, and compile reports for the lead grant organization.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Executive Director or Chief Operating Officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Clinical Behavioral Health, Public Health, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in managing grant-funded programs.

• At least 2 years of direct supervision and mentoring experience for clinical and program staff.

• Extensive background in integrating clinical and community-based wraparound services to address social determinants of health in rural areas.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong skills in budget development, expense tracking, and financial oversight.

• Proficient in using computers and the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

• Familiarity with cloud-based document management systems like Google Suite and OneDrive.

• Expertise in project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.

• Experience in contract and/or grants management and administration.

• Ability to work effectively, efficiently, and collaboratively in a completely remote or virtual setting.

• Clinical Behavioral Health Licensure, such as Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, is highly desirable.

• Commitment to or familiarity with rural communities.

• Knowledge of or experience with rural healthcare policies and networks.

• Experience collaborating with county, municipal, or local community partners such as housing, transportation, law enforcement, and food service providers.

• Must reside in New England and possess experience in the region.

• Willingness to travel regularly across the six New England states, with occasional national travel.

• Availability Monday to Friday during standard business hours, with flexibility for evening or weekend events as needed.
