Senior Backend Software Engineer – MEP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the SMB acquisition funnel services from start to finish.

• Create, implement, and manage high-throughput backend applications using Kotlin and Go.

• Lead the development of event-driven architecture and asynchronous messaging using Kafka.

• Maintain data consistency, idempotency, and resilience across various services.

• Strengthen and scale integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, and Segment.

• Implement observability and reliability practices for the services you manage.

• Set SLOs and alerts utilizing Datadog and OpenTelemetry.

• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to convert business objectives into technical solutions.

• Work together with engineering teams to refine the architecture.

• Perform code reviews and provide mentorship to colleagues.

• Utilize AI-assisted development workflows to enhance feature delivery, testing coverage, and documentation.

• Foster a supportive team environment and promote wellbeing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous backend software engineering experience with Kotlin, Go, or Java is essential.

• Professional proficiency in English is required.

• Fluency in Portuguese for daily team interactions is a must.

• Practical experience in designing, building, and operating distributed systems in a production setting.

• Strong production experience in Kotlin and Go, or significant experience in modern Java with a willingness to primarily work with Kotlin and Go.

• Familiarity with event-driven systems and asynchronous processing.

• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar message brokers.

• Experience in designing resilient APIs.

• Practical experience managing containerized microservices on AWS and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of data modeling and database management.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and DynamoDB.

• Proficient in using AI coding assistants and contemporary development tools.

• Must reside in Brazil.
