Senior Backend Engineer, Python - Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop scalable, high-performance systems utilizing Python.

• Modify the product to handle 200–400M+ records daily.

• Create and implement integrations with various external channels using a unified, channel-agnostic data model and API.

• Maintain data quality and consistency across channels through validation, reconciliation, and monitoring of freshness and completeness.

• Construct and manage data pipelines for ingestion, normalization, deduplication, and backfills.

• Enhance system reliability, observability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Design, build, deploy, monitor, and sustain products.

• Refactor legacy systems using contemporary technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience with Python.

• Strong understanding of raw SQL.

• Proficient with PostgreSQL, including a thorough comprehension of the engine and performance optimization techniques.

• Experience in creating solutions based on microservices and scaling such architectures.

• Familiarity with modern CI/CD methodologies and tools.

• Proven track record in establishing and enhancing the development process.

• A keen focus on business implications when making architectural choices.

• Practical experience in building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes at scale.

• Experience in integrating numerous external APIs and designing a unified abstraction layer over diverse data sources.

• English proficiency level must be specified in the application.

• Current country of residence must be indicated.

• Must express willingness to work under a B2B independent contractor arrangement.
