Senior Backend Engineer – Python, Node.js, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +6 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop the backend and integrations according to the architect's specifications, incorporating the HIPAA-AWS foundation utilizing infrastructure-as-code.

• Execute the integration for clearinghouse eligibility: construct the EDI 270 request, invoke the REST API, and interpret the 271 response.

• Create the eligibility check engine with a scheduler/SQS-driven daily sweep, pending-enrollment polling, and countdown mechanisms.

• Establish and sustain the encrypted coverage data repository and its alerting system.

• Take ownership of end-to-end integration-path testing.

• Collaborate closely through daily standups, delivering to the contract utilized by the front-end/automation engineer.

• Manage the integration layer and check engine in a comprehensive manner on a production healthcare platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive senior backend engineering experience (5+ years).

• Proficient in Python or Node.js/TypeScript.

• Experience with PostgreSQL and REST API design.

• Solid practical knowledge of AWS: including Fargate/ECS, SQS, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.

• Capable of executing infrastructure-as-code as designed by an architect.

• Robust experience in integrating third-party APIs and managing complex external data.

• Familiarity with healthcare EDI (ANSI 270/271) or clearinghouse integration is a plus.

• Experience with event-driven or queue-based pipelines is advantageous.

• Knowledge of HIPAA / PHI handling is beneficial.

• Experience with Terraform or AWS CDK is a plus.
