Senior Backend Engineer, Java, Spring Boot

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Collaborate within a small team to complete product assignments

• Take ownership of all stages including planning, development, and delivery

• Engage in architectural design and contribute to decision-making processes

• Perform code peer reviews

• Participate in retrospectives and implement team enhancements

• Assist junior and mid-level team members in achieving exceptional code quality

• Utilize technologies such as Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, and Astra-DB

• Work with experienced engineers to enhance architecture, scalability, and security

• Focus on product improvement and enhancing the customer experience

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend development

• Strong proficiency in Java, with a preference for Spring Boot

• Experience with Test Driven Development

• Solid skills in unit and integration testing

• Background in investing and personal wealth management is advantageous

• Mathematical skills are a plus

• Knowledge in machine learning or related statistical training

• Familiarity with big-data technologies such as MongoDB or Cassandra

• Understanding of financial products and the stock market

• Eagerness to learn new technologies

• Ability to leverage data or reliable sources to inform decisions

• Capacity to tackle complex challenges, learn swiftly, and persist in finding solutions

• Skill in balancing delivery speed with code quality

• Proficiency in English is required

• Knowledge of German is a plus
