Senior Backend Engineer, Java, Microservices

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java

• Build and maintain microservices-based architectures

• Apply Hexagonal Architecture (Ports & Adapters) and solid software design principles

• Develop solutions using messaging technologies and queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ

• Work with relational and NoSQL databases

• Develop and deploy applications in containerized environments using Docker

• Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, and observability solutions

• Work with monitoring and visualization tools like Grafana

• Contribute to CI/CD processes and software delivery

• Ensure code quality through testing, maintainability, and best engineering practices

• Collaborate with other technical teams and stakeholders to design effective backend solutions

• Troubleshoot technical issues and continuously improve system performance and reliability

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of hands-on experience in backend development

• Strong professional experience with Java, including modern versions like Java 25

• Proven experience in designing and developing microservices architectures

• Solid understanding of Hexagonal Architecture (Ports & Adapters)

• Experience with messaging systems and queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies

• Knowledge of at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases

• Strong knowledge of Docker and containerized environments

• Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability tools, including Grafana

• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery practices

• Good knowledge of software design principles, testing, and best development practices

• Fluent in Spanish

• Advanced English (C1), both written and spoken

• Valid authorization to work in the country of residence is required before starting collaboration

• The selection process includes a preliminary technical assessment

• Experience with Kubernetes is a plus

• Exposure to DevOps practices is a plus

• Previous experience in Agile environments is a plus
