Senior Backend Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA teams to conceptualize, design, and deliver impactful features.

• Architect and develop scalable, high-performance backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, reliable, and testable code.

• Integrate third-party services and APIs, ensuring robust error handling and graceful degradation.

• Enhance system performance and developer experience through automation and refactoring efforts.

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues throughout the technology stack.

• Identify opportunities for technical enhancements and improvements.

• Contribute to code reviews and discussions regarding architecture.

• Advocate for engineering best practices within the team.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical decisions, systems, and processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Over 5 years of practical professional experience in software engineering, particularly focused on backend development.

• In-depth knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.

• Strong understanding of modern backend architecture and engineering best practices.

• Experience in designing, building, and scaling web services, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.

• High proficiency in relational databases and ORM frameworks like Hibernate.

• Exposure to frontend technologies such as AngularJS or React is advantageous.

• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong communication abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
