Senior Backend Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with Product, Design, and QA teams to create and implement impactful features.

• Design and construct scalable, high-performance backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, reliable, and testable code.

• Integrate third-party services and APIs, ensuring robust error handling and graceful degradation.

• Enhance system performance and developer experience through automation and refactoring efforts.

• Identify and resolve complex issues across the entire stack.

• Engage in code reviews and architectural discussions.

• Record technical decisions, systems, and processes thoroughly.

• Take part in recruiter, take-home coding, technical, system design, architecture, and executive interviews throughout the hiring process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Over 5 years of practical professional experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend development.

• Extensive knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.

• Experience in designing, developing, and scaling web services, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong expertise in relational databases and ORM frameworks like Hibernate.

• Exceptional debugging and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent communication abilities and a team-oriented mindset.

• Experience with AngularJS or React is an added advantage.
