Senior Backend Engineer – Growth, MSSP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop backend services that enforce licensing, entitlements, feature access, usage limits, and packaging regulations.

• Create and refine provisioning and onboarding workflows for account setup, entitlement distribution, and automated provisioning.

• Build infrastructure for user access controls, account settings, parent-child account relationships, RBAC, and authorization.

• Develop capabilities for MSP/MSSP, which include asset allocation, sub-client management, usage visibility, and reporting workflows.

• Implement systems for audit logging and event history related to administrative, entitlement, usage, and account-level actions.

• Create a notifications platform for usage warnings, consumption alerts, overage notifications, product announcements, and additional communications.

• Manage services in production, contributing to monitoring, runbooks, incident response, and support processes.

• Write production code that meets standards for design quality, test coverage, observability, and operational excellence.

• Collaborate with the Pentest Data Platform and Platform Integration Team to consistently apply entitlement, access, and account-hierarchy rules.

• Provide leadership through technical judgment, system design, and reliable execution as a senior individual contributor.

• Take ownership of significant components of platform infrastructure while balancing feature delivery, long-term platform investment, and production health.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience using modern object-oriented or functional languages such as Python, Go, TypeScript, Java, Scala, or C++.

• Proven experience in building production applications on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Proficient in using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Ability to take ownership and manage multiple concurrent initiatives.

• Strong skills in prioritization and time management.

• Self-motivated and capable of implementing solutions both independently and collaboratively.

• Eagerness to continuously learn new technologies in a dynamic Agile environment.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Strong ability to create technical documentation, including design documents, runbooks, and support materials.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design teams.

• Interest in mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms and tenant isolation.

• Knowledge of RBAC, authorization, authentication, or SSO systems.

• Familiarity with licensing, subscription management, entitlement, usage metering, or billing-related systems.

• Experience in designing audit logging or event history systems.

• Understanding of provisioning, feature flags, and staged rollout patterns.

• Background in building admin consoles or customer self-service workflows.

• Experience with MSP, MSSP, or multi-tenant partner models.

• Familiarity with notifications infrastructure.

• Experience in production reliability, including observability tools, on-call ownership, runbook authorship, and incident response.

• Expert proficiency in SQL.

• Experience with relational database architectures, particularly PostgreSQL.

• Comfort with complex data models that involve account hierarchies, usage records, and entitlement states.
