Senior Backend Engineer, Django

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop and consistently enhance backend systems and APIs utilizing Django.

• Take responsibility for architectural decisions related to scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Create features in the React frontend, covering UI, state management, and backend integration.

• Enhance performance and the overall developer experience.

• Design clean interfaces that connect the frontend and backend.

• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.

• Adhere to clean code, design patterns, and robust system design principles.

• Refactor significant sections of the codebase to boost long-term maintainability, employing modern tools like Claude Code.

• Expand testing and quality assurance efforts, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Utilize and refine AI-assisted development methodologies.

• Collaborate closely with the CTO while taking on increasing technical responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in backend development.

• Some experience with frontend technologies in any framework is advantageous.

• Exceptional backend skills, particularly in Django, APIs, and data modeling.

• Strong grasp of architecture, design patterns, and principles of clean code.

• Practical experience with CI/CD processes, including building pipelines, tests, deployments, and release management.

• Robust testing and quality assurance methodologies.

• Familiarity with modern toolchains and workflows, including AI-assisted development techniques.

• Experience with Go and/or Rust, or a strong desire to learn these languages, is a plus.
