Senior Backend Engineer, Backoffice Team – Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend services utilizing Python 3.11 with Django/DRF.

• Facilitate architectural discussions and play a role in shaping the long-term technical strategy.

• Collaborate with MySQL and Redis to enhance performance and scalability.

• Create and refine RESTful APIs for both internal and external integrations.

• Enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Work alongside Product, Compliance, and Business teams to implement features and automate back-office processes and workflows.

• Investigate and resolve production issues, pinpoint bottlenecks, and minimize technical debt.

• Implement best practices in Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and code quality.

• Initiate enhancements in architecture, development processes, and internal tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in backend development.

• Proficient in Python and possess in-depth knowledge of Django (or comparable frameworks).

• Strong understanding of relational databases, caching mechanisms, and high-performance backend systems.

• Experience with REST APIs, service design, and distributed systems.

• Capable of navigating ambiguity and taking ownership of architectural decisions.

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD methodologies, and contemporary development workflows.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in English (B2 level or above) and fluent in Russian.

• Experience in the fintech sector, regulated industries, or internal B2B tools is a plus.

• Knowledge of AWS, Docker, and message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) is advantageous.

• Contributions to open source projects or personal side projects are welcomed.
