Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop the Open Source and Cloud product

• Design and execute SDK and platform features from inception to production deployment

• Create scalable database schemas and data models

• Enhance query performance and data access methodologies

• Construct dependable, high-throughput backend systems for production demands

• Design and implement scalable API endpoints and services to manage real customer traffic

• Adhere to security best practices

• Set up monitoring, logging, debugging, and observability tools

• Contribute to architectural decisions and the technical roadmap

• Assist customers, review pull requests, and generate issues within the Discord and GitHub communities

• Produce documentation

• Create various content types including code samples, blog posts, videos, and tweets

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Node.js and TypeScript; familiarity with Remix is preferred

• Strong experience with Postgres and Redis, covering schema design, query optimization, and production management

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, GCP, or Azure

• Willingness to be on call

• Open to attending in-person events throughout the year

• Demonstrated experience in contributing to open source projects

• Previous experience as a venture-backed startup founder

• Familiarity with React or Remix

• Background in working on high-throughput systems

• Experience designing SDKs for developer use

• Knowledge of self-managed Kubernetes

• Proficient in Linux

• Experience with OTel or observability tools

• Background in a developer tools organization

• Experience with Go

• Permanent residency in Europe within the GMT+3:00 to GMT+0:00 time zones
