Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend services utilizing Java and Python.

• Create distributed systems that encompass databases, APIs, message queues, and data processing pipelines.

• Assume complete responsibility for features and services throughout their entire lifecycle, from design and implementation to monitoring and enhancement.

• Construct production-ready systems with a strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and maintainability.

• Work closely with product and engineering teams to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Enhance system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency across the platform.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to expedite delivery while ensuring code quality and adhering to engineering best practices.

• Engage in architectural discussions and contribute to significant technical decisions as the company grows.

• Consistently refine development processes, tools, and engineering standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development.

• Extensive professional experience with Java and Python, focused on building and maintaining production-grade backend systems.

• Strong grasp of distributed systems, scalable architectures, and asynchronous processing.

• Experience with databases, message queues, and data processing pipelines.

• Practical experience using Docker and Kubernetes in live production settings.

• Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, optimize, and enhance products post-launch.

• Strong sense of ownership, independence, and the ability to excel in startup or rapid-paced environments.

• Advanced English proficiency.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools along with the capability to review, validate, and improve AI-generated code.
