Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design and implement advanced event-driven microservices for M-KOPA Mobility’s e-mobility financing platform.

• Take full ownership of solutions, from architectural decisions to production monitoring and eventual decommissioning.

• Create innovative .NET backend systems that facilitate clean and affordable transportation throughout Africa.

• Collaborate effectively within engineering teams, benefiting from senior members' guidance and contributions.

• Ensure a high standard of output through observability and monitoring, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices.

• Contribute to technologies that promote digital and financial inclusion.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid understanding of C# .NET development.

• Experience with event-driven architectures, including Service Bus or comparable messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Background in microservices architecture.

• Familiarity with Azure or other leading cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools, including Kubernetes and Docker.

• Proficient in using observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

• Expertise in testing and deployment processes.

• Mindset aligned with DevOps culture.

• Experience working with AI coding tools, ideally Claude Code or similar.

• Comfortable collaborating as part of a team responsible for the entire software stack and infrastructure across the software lifecycle.

• Openness to adopting continuous delivery, testing, observability, infrastructure as code, and DevOps best practices.
