Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee several microservices and related library projects within an event-driven microservices framework driven by Kafka.

• Take ownership of the entire lifecycle of savings accounts, campaigns/rewards, and the investment platform.

• Engage with features related to taxation.

• Develop and sustain financial-grade systems with high throughput that are accurate and auditable.

• Collaborate with a wider network of microservices managed by different teams.

• Contribute as part of a small, effective cross-functional team.

• Involve yourself in AI-driven development with human oversight, paired programming, and code reviews.

• Operate within a continuous delivery framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong backend software development background.

• High level of proficiency in the Java/Spring Boot ecosystem and Hibernate.

• Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architectures, and RESTful APIs.

• Experience working with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.

• Knowledge of transactions and concurrency management.

• Experience in maintaining large, high-traffic database tables.

• Continuous delivery experience through test-driven development (ATDD), or a willingness to learn and adapt.

• Background in financial systems (preferred but not mandatory).

• Experience with observability stacks (preferred but not mandatory).
