Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture and creation of resilient, high-performance, cloud-native backend systems utilizing Go to support real-time data processing and low-latency workflows.

• Foster engineering excellence through code quality, adherence to best practices, and mentorship of team members.

• Utilize AI-assisted and agentic development methodologies while taking ownership of code quality, accuracy, performance, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with trading, product, and infrastructure teams to comprehend requirements and deliver efficient solutions.

• Take responsibility for production services, ensuring their reliability, observability, performance optimization, stability, and security.

• Contribute to the automation of infrastructure and improvements in CI/CD processes.

• Conduct code reviews, spearhead technical discussions, and influence engineering standards.

• Implement automated testing and CI/CD pipelines effectively.

• Deploy and manage services using cloud-native tools and established best practices.

• Monitor, debug, and troubleshoot production systems while participating in on-call incident response activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of backend development experience in building and supporting production-grade systems.

• At least 3 years of professional experience in constructing and managing production systems in Go, or extensive backend engineering experience combined with agentic development workflows.

• Strong understanding of concurrency, memory management, performance, and optimization techniques.

• Experience in leading large-scale system design initiatives and mentoring engineers.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying microservice architectures in environments that require high availability and throughput.

• Knowledge of message queues, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing principles.

• Familiarity with TCP, UDP, WSS, REST, and gRPC protocols.

• Experience in building and deploying cloud-native applications.

• Acquainted with Docker and ECS or Kubernetes.

• Proficient in Kafka or Redpanda and distributed systems architecture.

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse, or TimescaleDB.

• Nice-to-have familiarity with Rust, C++, or Python.

• Nice-to-have familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Nice-to-have experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud services.

• Nice-to-have experience using Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.

• Nice-to-have background in cryptocurrency, high-frequency trading, or real-time market data systems.

• Nice-to-have knowledge of cryptocurrency exchange market data and order routing protocols.

• Nice-to-have contributions to open-source projects or a technical blog/portfolio.
