Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and scale backend services utilizing Go and Typescript for global fulfillment and logistics operations.

• Create and uphold secure, high-performance REST APIs that integrate both internal systems and third-party providers.

• Engage with event-driven architectures by leveraging AWS SNS and SQS.

• Take ownership of backend components throughout their lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

• Maintain code quality via automated testing, code reviews, and continuous delivery pipelines.

• Disseminate knowledge, mentor team members, and encourage collaboration and ongoing improvement.

• Participate in recruitment initiatives.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend developers to create reliable, scalable services that support global operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and delivering scalable, high-performance backend systems in a cloud environment, preferably using Go (Golang) and Typescript.

• Experience in constructing event-driven architectures with AWS SNS/SQS.

• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and systems integration patterns.

• In-depth knowledge of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and software design patterns.

• Several years of experience in backend software development, ideally within e-commerce or logistics.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.

• Proficient in writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

• Experience with monitoring tools and observability best practices is a plus.

• Highly self-organized with a proactive problem-solving attitude and a sense of ownership.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required.
