Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Venezuela.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the founders to shape product and technical strategies.

• Develop and sustain the Django backend that supports the consumer dashboard and B2B platform.

• Create APIs for the consumer dashboard and customer reporting functionalities.

• Enhance performance and reliability within Celery and RabbitMQ workflows.

• Integrate various third-party services, including payment and identity providers like Stripe and WorkOS SSO.

• Take ownership of features from inception to completion, ensuring reliability post-release.

• Engage in code reviews as part of a small backend development team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in building production web applications.

• At least 3 years of experience with Python and Django.

• Hands-on experience with Celery, RabbitMQ, and Redis in production settings.

• Proficient understanding of data structures, concurrency, SQL, and system design.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Ability to work asynchronously across different time zones.

• Self-motivated with strong follow-through on tasks.

• Experience with DRF and/or django-ninja is a strong advantage.

• Familiarity with Postgres tuning and query analysis is a significant plus.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS is a strong plus.

• Experience with Stripe, WorkOS SSO, or other third-party API integrations is a strong plus.

• Proficiency in HTMX, React, or both is a strong advantage.

• Background in consumer privacy or related industries is a strong plus.

• Experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code is a strong plus.
