Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay.

📋 Description

• Design and create scalable, efficient, and maintainable backend solutions.

• Develop and sustain high-performance backend services utilizing C# and SQL.

• Craft robust software solutions while assessing architectural strategies and technical trade-offs.

• Construct and enhance cloud-native applications and services leveraging AWS.

• Manage intricate data migrations and transformations across various systems.

• Rebuild, sustain, and improve integrations with both internal and external platforms.

• Contribute to reporting and analytics solutions utilizing Snowflake and related technologies.

• Tackle complex technical challenges autonomously with minimal supervision.

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Articulate technical decisions and the rationale behind software architecture effectively.

• Foster a collaborative engineering culture by providing feedback and engaging in constructive challenges.

• Remain updated with industry trends and engineering best practices.

• Continuously enhance development processes and the quality of solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Proficient in C# for backend development.

• Strong understanding of SQL, encompassing database design and query optimization.

• Experience with AWS and cloud-based architectures.

• Familiarity with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.

• Knowledge of Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.

• Experience with SQL Server and database administration.

• Strong skills in software design and architecture.

• Ability to structure solutions, assess trade-offs, and communicate technical decisions.

• Exposure to React and TypeScript, with the ability to assist with frontend tasks when necessary.

• Experience in Python for scripting, automation, or data processing is advantageous.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Positive and collaborative mindset, openness to feedback, comfort with constructive challenges, and a willingness to support peers.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Over 5 years of experience in similar software engineering positions.
