Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Implement features across multi-tenant data platform services, such as data ingestion, schema management, effective dating, snapshots, calculated fields, and exports, utilizing AI agents exclusively.

• Create structured, testable Product Requirement Prompts and specification documents.

• Manage the versioned specification library that oversees the codebase.

• Operate multiple agents simultaneously across various workstreams and assess results against specifications.

• Enhance the first-pass success rate of agents, reduce defect escape rates, and facilitate changes merged without human intervention.

• Develop and sustain the agentic pipeline, which includes the agent harness, blueprint engine, MCP tool layer, warm sandbox pool, and retrieval systems.

• Track token usage, task latency, cost per execution, model-tier routing, and cost-per-outcome.

• Integrate audit trails, feature ownership, data-classification gates, and controls for production secrets and PII.

• Design external behavioral scenario suites, holdout sets, digital twins, AI-review gates, and automated remediation processes.

• Enforce performance constraints for bulk ingestion, large export streaming, memory behavior, and complex SQL operations.

• Identify and resolve production data challenges through agents in conjunction with Support and Engineering teams.

• Document specifications, scenarios, and decisions related to the pipeline.

• Assist fellow engineers in adopting agent-driven development methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience in developing production backend services.

• Proficiency in .NET/C# and PostgreSQL systems.

• A significant portion of recent production output should be AI-generated under the applicant’s supervision.

• Hands-on expertise with AI coding agents, ideally Claude Code.

• Experience managing parallel agent sessions, custom skills, and sub-agents.

• Capability to structure codebases and contexts to ensure the reliable operation of agents.

• Exceptional skill in composing precise, agent-executable Product Requirement Prompts (PRPs) and specification documents.

• Strong background in verification engineering, inclusive of behavioral and scenario-based testing, holdout evaluation, quality gates, and validation frameworks.

• Solid architectural judgment regarding performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Experience in building agent infrastructure, including MCP servers, tool layers, sandboxed execution, and CI/CD for agent-driven workflows.

• Deep reading proficiency in .NET/C# and SQL, encompassing schema design, query plans, streaming vs. buffering, and memory behavior.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Bonus: Experience with digital twins or service virtualizations.

• Bonus: Familiarity with LLM evaluation at scale, evaluation suites, red-teaming AI-generated code, and benchmarking agent workflows.

• Bonus: Knowledge of multi-tenant SaaS architecture, CDC/event-driven ingestion, or lakehouse exposure.

• Bonus: Experience with Azure, Docker, Kubernetes/Helm.
