Senior Backend Engineer – Asset Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage distributed C# and .NET microservices hosted on Azure.

• Operate within an event-driven architecture that supports high-scale products.

• Take ownership of services from initial concept through to implementation, deployment, operational management, and iterative improvements.

• Design systems that accommodate idempotency, retries, out-of-order events, and various failure scenarios.

• Leverage observability, automated testing, service level objectives (SLOs), alerting mechanisms, and deployment safeguards.

• Engage in on-call operations and utilize incidents to enhance platform resilience.

• Explore AI tools, agents, and workflows in areas including design, code generation, code review, testing, incident analysis, and technical communication.

• Work collaboratively with distributed teams situated in the UK, Europe, and Africa.

• Develop backend systems aimed at promoting financial inclusion for customers in African markets.

• Strong understanding of C# and .NET development practices.

• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Azure Service Bus, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture, preferably using Azure and Kubernetes.

• Proficient in utilizing observability tools like Grafana and Azure Application Insights.

• Comfort in integrating AI tools into the daily engineering workflow.

• Embrace a DevOps culture mindset, including on-call responsibilities and production ownership.

• Proven track record of effective collaboration within distributed teams across different time zones.
