Senior Backend Engineer – Asset Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya, +6 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage distributed C# and .NET microservices on the Azure platform.

• Operate within a large-scale event-driven architecture.

• Take full ownership of services from conception through implementation, deployment, and iterative improvements.

• Design systems with considerations for idempotency, retries, out-of-order events, and potential failure modes.

• Utilize observability tools, including logs, traces, and metrics, to gain insights into production behavior.

• Experiment with AI tools, agents, and workflows, sharing effective practices within the team.

• Implement automated testing, Service Level Objectives (SLOs), alerting, observability, and deployment safeguards.

• Engage in on-call operations, using incidents as opportunities to enhance platform resilience.

• Collaborate effectively with distributed teams across the UK, Europe, and Africa.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong understanding of C# and .NET development.

• Experience with event-driven systems and messaging technologies such as Azure Service Bus, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture, preferably on Azure and Kubernetes.

• Proficient in using observability tools like Grafana and Application Insights.

• Comfortable integrating AI tools into daily engineering workflows, including design, code review, testing, and incident investigations.

• Mindset aligned with DevOps culture, including responsibilities for on-call duties and production ownership.

• Proven track record of effective collaboration within distributed teams across various time zones.

• Commitment to continuous learning and openness to constructive feedback.
