Senior Backend Engineer – Agents

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create autonomous inbox agents tailored for intricate ticket workflows

• Establish criteria for when agents should transition tasks to human operators and outline the procedural guidelines

• Craft agent templates for client use

• Design system prompts, skills, and tools utilizing harness engineering techniques

• Enhance knowledge-base learning capabilities and optimize search functionality

• Develop voice agents utilizing LiveKit technology

• Choose appropriate LLMs for designated tasks

• Minimize latency through effective caching and streaming solutions

• Manage provider outages with resilient retry mechanisms

• Maintain concise context and optimize RAG retrieval processes

• Monitor usage across service providers to reduce expenses

• Validate enhancements through evaluations

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in both English and German

• Over 2 years of experience in developing agents for production environments

• AI-native experience in delivering agentic features relied upon by real users

• Strong perspectives and hands-on experience with retrieval, evaluations, tool design, and understanding the limitations of current leading models

• A robust builder mentality

• Current knowledge of new AI models and research advancements

• Primarily writes code with the assistance of AI

• Capable of working independently and taking complete ownership of projects

• Thrives under pressure

• Quick learner with a versatile mindset

• Open to working with TypeScript, Convex, Next.js, React, Tailwind, shadcn/ui, Vercel AI SDK, and Convex Agent Component
