This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Manage and enhance Amazon ECS deployments for JLV backend microservices.
• Set up and oversee service scaling, task definitions, health checks, and blue/green deployment methodologies.
• Develop and uphold Infrastructure as Code solutions that adhere to VA Enterprise Cloud architecture standards.
• Facilitate multi-region high availability and disaster recovery setups within AWS GovCloud.
• Architect, sustain, and refine CI/CD pipelines for containerized microservices.
• Automate build, testing, security scanning, deployment, verification, and rollback procedures.
• Generate repeatable deployment protocols and release workflows that comply with VA governance requirements.
• Automate system configuration, database modifications, performance optimization, and post-deployment validation.
• Construct and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and notification frameworks for JLV backend services.
• Perform backup, restoration, outage recovery, and incident response workflows.
• Create operational runbooks and assist in production readiness initiatives.
• Establish performance benchmarks and aid in load testing and release validation.
• Enforce security measures that support FedRAMP High, NIST 800-53, FISMA, and VA compliance standards.
• Incorporate security protocols into CI/CD pipelines and operational processes.
• Assist with continuous monitoring, auditing tasks, and remediation efforts.
• Implement IAM solutions that follow best practices for government cloud environments.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product teams, security teams, and operations staff.
• Aid in production issue triage and enhancements to service reliability.
• Navigate releases through VA governance and approval procedures.
• Keep architecture documentation, deployment manuals, and operational protocols up to date.
• Assume additional tasks and responsibilities as required to meet team goals and ensure project success.
• Experience in managing containerized microservices on AWS ECS.
• Strong grasp of container orchestration, service scaling, load balancing, and health monitoring.
• Proficient in AWS CLI and conducting operations in production cloud environments.
• Experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for enterprise-level settings.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code methodologies and automation frameworks.
• Working knowledge of FedRAMP High, NIST 800-53, FISMA, and compliance standards for government cloud.
• Experience in implementing observability solutions, incident response protocols, and SRE methodologies.
• Solid understanding of AWS networking, IAM, security groups, and multi-region disaster recovery architectures.
• Experience in AWS GovCloud environments.
• Knowledge of VA Enterprise Cloud architecture and deployment strategies.
• Background in supporting healthcare applications or clinical viewer platforms.
• Familiarity with deployment governance, operational readiness evaluations, and production operations management.
• Experience with integration into VA or DoD healthcare systems and services.
• Knowledge of VIP lifecycle processes and related release documentation.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• Capability to obtain and retain a Public Trust clearance or higher.
• Must be a resident of the continental United States.
