DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.

• Automate software release processes to eliminate manual dependencies.

• Provision and oversee cloud infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code tools.

• Monitor system performance and establish alerting mechanisms.

• Ensure the high availability of both internal and customer-facing systems.

• Coordinate builds, deployments, installations, and configurations across various environments.

• Integrate security best practices within deployment pipelines.

• Manage access controls, secrets, and automated vulnerability scanning.

• Optimize developer workflows.

• Document deployment procedures and provide cross-training to team members.

• Address technical incidents and infrastructure challenges.

• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective measures.

• Report directly to the Development Manager while collaborating with Development Team Leaders, Infrastructure, and Development teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

• Willingness to work Melbourne (Australia) hours.

• Flexibility to work outside of standard hours for scheduled deployments as necessary.

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in a comparable DevOps or Systems Engineering position.

• Experience in working with remote teams.

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong knowledge of Docker, Linux environments, and cloud infrastructure scaling.

• Proficient in Linux server administration and shell scripting.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Proficient in AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.

• Skilled in database management and deployment automation with MySQL, MariaDB, or Redis.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

• Familiarity with automating deployments for PHP/Laravel/WordPress and JavaScript frameworks like React/Vue.js.

• Proficient in Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.

• Experience with AI tools and automation.

• Knowledgeable in observability/APM tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

• Capable of communicating effectively with stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently as well as within a development team.
