Senior Backend Developer, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain backend applications utilizing Python

• Create, develop, and improve REST APIs

• Implement business logic and integration services for systems

• Develop asynchronous integrations leveraging Apache Kafka

• Establish and manage message producers and consumers

• Connect applications with MinIO for the storage, querying, and retrieval of files and objects

• Build integrations with relational databases

• Implement mechanisms for error and exception handling

• Develop unit and integration tests

• Analyze and troubleshoot application issues

• Engage with logs, monitoring, and operational traceability

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the definition of technical solutions

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation

• Collaborate with architects, systems analysts, and various technical teams

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in software development

• Proficient experience with Python for backend development

• Experience in creating and utilizing REST APIs

• Familiarity with Python backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django

• Understanding of Apache Kafka

• Experience or knowledge in developing Kafka producers and consumers

• Familiarity with MinIO or S3-compatible object storage

• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases

• Experience with system integration

• Proficiency in Git, preferably Bitbucket

• Understanding of Linux

• Experience with automated testing

• Familiarity with agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban

• Experience with FastAPI is a plus

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures is a plus

• Knowledge of Kafka topics and partitions, consumer groups, offsets, retries, failure handling, and idempotency

• Experience with Amazon S3-compatible APIs is a plus

• Understanding of Docker is a plus

• Familiarity with Kubernetes or OpenShift is a plus

• Knowledge of CI/CD practices is a plus

• Understanding of API authentication and authorization is a plus

• Familiarity with OAuth2, JWT, or OpenID Connect is a plus

• Experience with observability, metrics, and tracing is a plus

• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or OCI is a plus

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
