Senior Backend Developer – Node.js, Nest.js

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance backend applications and APIs, with a focus on Node.js and Nest.js.

• Engage in technical and architectural decision-making for applications and integrations.

• Create and implement scalable, resilient, and highly available solutions.

• Lead the advancement of microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.

• Develop and sustain integrations between internal and external systems via APIs.

• Implement and improve messaging, event-driven, and asynchronous processing solutions.

• Analyze performance metrics and pinpoint opportunities for enhancements.

• Utilize caching, parallelism, and optimization strategies for processing.

• Apply resilience and fault-tolerance patterns effectively.

• Contribute to the modernization and transition of applications to cloud-native services.

• Enhance logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and alerting functionalities.

• Assist in the implementation of scalability and auto-scaling strategies.

• Take part in the development of CI/CD pipelines and automation of the development process.

• Update libraries, frameworks, and dependencies to guarantee application security, stability, and maintenance.

• Uphold security and encryption best practices.

• Help define test scenarios, quality strategies, and test automation processes.

• Troubleshoot, analyze incidents, and resolve issues in production settings.

• Conduct code reviews and promote development best practices.

• Leverage Generative AI tools, such as Claude, to assist with analysis, development, documentation, and productivity.

• Provide technical support and knowledge sharing to fellow team members through collaboration.

• Extensive experience with Node.js.

• Proficient in Nest.js.

• Experience in developing REST APIs and system integrations.

• Advanced understanding of backend development.

• Familiarity with development best practices, design patterns, and clean code principles.

• Experience with microservices architecture.

• Strong knowledge of distributed systems.

• Familiarity with resilience and fault-tolerance patterns.

• Understanding of scalability, elasticity, and high-availability concepts.

• Experience with messaging, events, or streaming technologies.

• Proficient with AWS.

• Knowledge of cloud application architecture and design.

• Experience with cloud-native solutions and scalable environments.

• Experience with SQL databases.

• Understanding of relational database concepts.

• Proficient in data modeling.

• Familiarity with performance strategies and query optimization techniques.

• Experience with logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and alerting systems.

• Knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, and test automation practices.

• Experience in troubleshooting and analyzing production issues.

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and pipeline management.

• Proficiency in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
