Senior Backend Developer, JavaScript

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Assume complete responsibility for the development of products and features, encompassing design, implementation, production rollout, and ongoing enhancements.

• Create and manage backend services that emphasize scalability, reliability, and performance within a microservices framework.

• Engage in system design and architectural planning.

• Influence technical decisions throughout the team.

• Collaborate with asynchronous, message-driven components utilizing Redis Streams, which includes debugging, optimization, and ensuring resilient processing.

• Develop high-quality, maintainable code with adequate test coverage.

• Actively participate in code reviews.

• Work closely with team members and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve significant results.

• Commit to continuous learning, adaptation, and staying up-to-date with best practices and emerging technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical software engineering experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to backend JavaScript / Node.js development.

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain SaaS applications and/or production backend services.

• Experience in a microservices architecture, encompassing service boundaries, APIs, and patterns of reliability.

• Practical experience with MongoDB and Redis, including hands-on work with Redis Streams or comparable pub/sub/stream processing technologies.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized application deployments.

• Solid understanding of system design principles, including APIs, data modeling, performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Capability to learn swiftly and operate both independently and collaboratively as a team member.

• Proficient in English, possessing strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with Snowflake and data pipelines/analytics.

• Familiarity with AWS and cloud-based production environments.

• Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL and other NoSQL technologies.

• Experience with observability tools, including logging, metrics, tracing, and incident response.
