Senior Backend Developer – Identity and Access Management, IAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with a team of developers to develop and sustain IAM capabilities.

• Contribute to the backend codebase, prioritizing reliability, scalability, and security.

• Engage in technical design discussions and decompose projects into actionable tasks.

• Identify opportunities for enhancing authentication and authorization workflows.

• Assist in the maintenance and availability of IAM systems, including troubleshooting and resolving production issues.

• Collaborate with product, security, and legal teams to ensure the compliance and integrity of user data and access.

• Keep abreast of emerging security practices, frameworks, and technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A collaborative attitude and eagerness to share knowledge and ideas with colleagues.

• A strong interest in IAM and security, with an understanding of the threat landscape.

• Familiarity with authentication protocols, SSO (SAML, OAuth), RBAC, and MFA.

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software development.

• Practical experience with modern web development, particularly using Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and Apollo.

• A dedication to writing clean, maintainable code and promoting strong engineering practices.

• Successful completion of a background check is mandatory.

• Must adhere to relevant employment and privacy laws in Canada and the U.S.
