Senior Backend Developer, Go

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend services utilizing Go.

• Create and enhance GraphQL and/or REST APIs that support intricate product workflows.

• Architect scalable, dependable, and maintainable backend systems.

• Work collaboratively with frontend developers, product managers, data engineers, and designers.

• Engage in data modeling, business logic formulation, and performance enhancement.

• Review code and take part in architectural and technical discussions.

• Enhance code quality, testing practices, observability, and system robustness.

• Address refactoring, technical debt, and long-term enhancements.

• Take ownership of backend features from conception to production.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Work autonomously, take charge of complex features and systems, and make well-informed architectural choices.

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, elevating the team's quality standards through example and peer reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical, production-level experience in Go.

• Go should be one of the candidate's primary programming languages.

• Must reside in a European timezone ranging from UTC−1 to UTC+3.

• Familiarity with API design using GraphQL and/or REST.

• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational database systems.

• Knowledge of BigQuery and other NoSQL database technologies.

• Proficient in distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.

• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab pipelines.

• Cloud-infrastructure mindset, with experience in GCP or other cloud service providers.

• Familiarity with observability tools such as logging, metrics, and tracing.

• Background in unit and/or integration testing.

• Experience with Kubernetes.

• Proficient in English as the primary working language.

• Experience with Python is a plus.

• Exposure to Protobuf and gRPC is advantageous.
