Senior Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance nesto’s backend platform to accommodate growth.

• Collaborate closely with the Frontend and Data teams to develop and integrate robust data services.

• Produce clean, modular, testable, and maintainable code while adhering to industry best practices (Clean Code).

• Utilize comprehensive technical expertise, covering architecture design, coding, automated testing, and debugging.

• Investigate and resolve complex or intermittent bugs.

• Actively engage in validating new features.

• Foster continuous improvement by keeping abreast of emerging technologies to improve the existing architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or university diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.

• Robust hands-on experience with at least one of the following programming languages: Go, Python, Node.js, or C#.

• A strong passion for developing user-centric products that provide measurable value.

• A consistent eagerness to learn, share knowledge with colleagues, and contribute to team growth in an inclusive and collaborative setting.

• Exceptional ability to convey complex technical concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders, both technical and business-oriented.

• Strong attention to detail, technical rigor, and the capacity to consider long-term software design (Systems Thinking).

• Proficient English is required: ability to collaborate daily with teams across Canada, excluding Quebec.

• Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
