Senior Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and develop REST backend APIs and services tailored for B2B e-commerce and satellite applications.

• Assist in decoupling the SAP Commerce monolith and legacy systems by transitioning business domains into Java/Spring Boot microservices.

• Collaborate with architects and business teams to model domains such as catalog, pricing, orders, quotations, and ERP integrations.

• Create integrations with SAP Commerce, SAP ERPs, API Gateway, and various other enterprise systems.

• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms utilizing Spring Security, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and Keycloak.

• Ensure the implementation and upkeep of automated unit and integration tests using suitable frameworks and Testcontainers.

• Engage in the squad’s Agile ceremonies, which include refinements, planning sessions, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Contribute to technical decision-making and the ongoing evolution of the architecture.

• Perform code reviews and generate technical documentation in both Portuguese and English.

• Share insights and promote best practices in software engineering.

• Support architectural decisions related to platform evolution, observability, scalability, security, and system integration.

• Redesign the backend layer of a global cloud-based B2B e-commerce platform, ensuring its availability, scalability, performance, enterprise integration, quality, security, and observability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Java for enterprise applications.

• Extensive experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem, which includes Spring Web, Spring Data, Spring Validation, Spring Actuator, and Spring Security.

• Proficient in developing and maintaining REST APIs, covering resource modeling, pagination, error handling, and versioning.

• Familiar with microservices architecture.

• Experience with asynchronous communication based on messaging and events is an advantage.

• Knowledgeable in relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.

• Skilled in non-relational databases, preferably MongoDB.

• Experienced in system integration within complex enterprise environments, including SAP ERPs, legacy systems, and enterprise microservices.

• Understanding of HTTP clients and integrations using Spring Cloud OpenFeign or similar technologies.

• Solid expertise in OAuth2, OpenID Connect, Keycloak, and Spring Security.

• Proficient with JUnit, Mockito or similar frameworks, Spring Boot Test, and Testcontainers.

• Practical experience in integration testing using PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.

• Familiar with Git and CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI.

• Knowledgeable in Docker and managing applications in containerized environments.

• Understanding of observability and monitoring tools, including Grafana, distributed logging, application metrics, basic performance analysis, and troubleshooting.

• Senior-level profile, capable of acting as a backend technical reference and aiding in architectural decisions.

• Strong communication skills to comprehend business needs, convert demands into technical requirements, and clarify technical decisions.

• Advanced proficiency in English for reading and writing technical documentation and engaging in international meetings.

• Ability to thrive in an agile, collaborative, and multidisciplinary environment.

• Proactive in identifying and resolving technical challenges.

• Commitment to quality, governance, documentation, and sustainable solutions.

• Willingness to share knowledge and support the team's technical development.

• Nice to have: experience with SAP Commerce/Hybris, B2B e-commerce platforms, event-driven architecture, Kafka, RabbitMQ, DDD, distributed observability, resilience patterns, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
