Senior Backend Developer – Agents

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Develop autonomous Inbox-Agents that activate when new events occur within a ticket

• Create agent templates that can be trained and utilized by customers

• Design escalation protocols for agents to determine when human intervention is necessary

• Ensure compliance of agents with established processes

• Engineer harness systems for agents utilizing over 100 tools

• Craft system prompts, skills, and interactions for agents

• Enhance the custom knowledge base and the AI's learning capabilities

• Optimize AI knowledge-base searches using tools, system prompts, and skills

• Develop voice agents on LiveKit for managing phone communications

• Choose suitable LLMs for various tasks

• Implement caching and streaming of responses to minimize latency

• Set up retry mechanisms for provider failures

• Streamline context and optimize RAG search processes

• Monitor usage across providers and work on cost reduction

• Conduct evaluations to assess performance enhancements

• Operate independently with full ownership, delivering features to production

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English

• Over 2 years of experience in building production agents

• Experienced with AI-native production environments

• Successfully launched agentic features relied upon by real users

• Possess insights on retrieval, evaluations, tool design, and limitations of current frontier models

• Builder-oriented; eager to quickly deliver an initial rough version

• Knowledgeable about the latest AI models and research

• Primarily writing code with the assistance of AI

• Comfortable working independently and taking complete responsibility for tasks

• Thrives under performance pressure

• Quick learner and identifies as a generalist

• Familiarity with TypeScript; experience with Convex, Next.js, React, Tailwind, shadcn/ui, Vercel AI SDK, or Convex Agent Component may be encountered
