Senior Back-End Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of robust .NET applications within a cloud-based Azure environment.

• Define and implement scalable system architecture across various services.

• Promote CI/CD best practices and optimize GitHub Actions pipelines.

• Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Engineering teams to convert intricate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers through code reviews.

• Establish and maintain standards for coding, security, performance optimization, and system architecture.

• Conduct code reviews to ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable outputs.

• Contribute to Agile delivery processes utilizing Jira.

• Foster the adoption of contemporary technologies and engineering methodologies.

• Assist in incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and the ongoing enhancement of system stability and resilience.

• Lead the delivery of enterprise-level systems within a regulated financial services context.

• Balance hands-on development with leadership, mentoring, and architectural duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in .NET development, with a strong focus on C# and .NET Core.

• Demonstrated experience in leading or mentoring engineers within a delivery team.

• Extensive knowledge of Azure services and cloud-native architecture.

• Practical experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.

• Experience working within Agile frameworks and utilizing tools such as Jira.

• Strong grasp of software design principles, including clean architecture and scalable system design.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.

• Experience in fintech or regulated environments is a plus.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of frontend technologies like Blazor or React.

• Strong understanding of system observability, monitoring, and performance tuning.
