Senior Back-End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable back-end services utilizing TypeScript and Node.js for enterprise healthcare operations and workforce decision-making.

• Create and maintain REST APIs following contract-first development methodologies.

• Develop integrations with HR, ERP, and workforce management systems.

• Implement idempotency, retries, event-driven processing, dead-letter queues, and reconciliation processes.

• Build and maintain decision services, business rules, and capabilities for tracking outcomes.

• Create and support data services and pipelines.

• Design and implement secure multi-tenant services with stringent data isolation and access controls.

• Develop and maintain cloud-native services on Azure, AWS, or GCP, including containerized applications and automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Execute unit, integration, and contract tests.

• Collaborate with front-end engineers, data engineers, platform engineers, and client stakeholders.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools and coding agents while ensuring code quality and security.

• Take ownership of services through design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with TypeScript and Node.js at a senior level.

• Minimum of 5 years in developing production back-end services, with recent hands-on experience in TypeScript and Node.js.

• Proficient in designing REST APIs using OpenAPI specifications and generating server types, clients, and tests from API contracts.

• Knowledge of API versioning and maintaining compatibility across various consumers.

• Experience in building integrations that write data back into external enterprise systems, such as HR, ERP, or vendor management platforms.

• Understanding of concepts like idempotency, retries, backoff strategies, outbox patterns, dead-letter queues, and reconciliation.

• Proven experience in developing multi-tenant SaaS services with strict tenant isolation at the data layer, including authorization and testing.

• Production experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, encompassing OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, containers, and CI/CD.

• Proficient in written and spoken English, with a comfort level for direct collaboration with US-based engineers and client stakeholders.

• Availability starting around December 1, 2026.
