Senior Back End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs for clients and internal use that support product and business operations.

• Architect and coordinate data flows between backend services, applications, and third-party systems.

• Create and oversee database schemas and data storage solutions that scale effectively.

• Drive the design, development, and delivery of complex product features from initial concept to final deployment.

• Build and uphold automated testing frameworks while enhancing software quality and reliability.

• Assess, integrate, and provide support for third-party services, tools, and platforms.

• Enhance system architecture, performance, observability, security, and reliability.

• Offer technical guidance, mentorship, and share knowledge across the engineering team.

• Take ownership of intricate product features from design to deployment.

• Contribute to architecture, data flows, APIs, databases, observability, and platform reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.

• 6–8 years of experience in backend or full-stack software engineering positions.

• Proficient knowledge of Go.

• Professional experience in developing applications and services utilizing Go, Python, Ruby, TypeScript, or C#.

• Expertise in designing, developing, debugging, and deploying high-performance client/server systems that support business-critical applications.

• Experience with database technologies and messaging systems.

• Ability to evaluate and choose database and messaging solutions based on business and technical needs.

• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and contemporary CI/CD practices.

• Understanding of software security principles, testing methodologies, and engineering best practices.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively across teams.

• Proven initiative, accountability, and ownership of technical outcomes.

• Capability to mentor and foster the growth of other engineers.

• Familiarity with GraphQL, gRPC, Postgres, Mongo, Snowflake, Kafka, Python, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS is a plus.

• Experience in the insurance, banking, or investing sectors is an advantage.
