Senior Back-end Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design and create scalable, secure, and dependable server-side components and APIs.

• Collaborate closely with Product and Front-End teams to develop RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, implement business logic, and establish database queries and schemas.

• Build and sustain services utilizing TypeScript and Node.js, while managing deployments in AWS and Kubernetes environments.

• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST standards through robust engineering practices.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance backend performance, reliability, and observability.

• Produce clean, maintainable code accompanied by thorough documentation and unit/integration tests.

• Assist with frontend tasks using React as necessary.

• Engage in cross-functional collaboration during agile sprints utilizing Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.

• Work alongside product, design, data, and DevOps teams to deliver robust systems.

• Provide support for secure, scalable, high-performance digital health platforms tailored for enterprise healthcare clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend software development, particularly in SaaS or digital health platforms.

• Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js.

• Strong comprehension of RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL servers.

• Practical experience with PostgreSQL and relational data modeling.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS services.

• Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes.

• Solid understanding of microservices, security best practices, HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST.

• Familiarity with Docker, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with iterative development cycles.

• Some knowledge of React or frontend work is advantageous, though not mandatory.

• Proficiency in English.

• A passion for tackling complex challenges in healthcare technology.
