Senior Azure Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Provide solution designs and architectural frameworks for major projects primarily hosted on cloud-based government platforms.

• Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of architecture and recommend or implement solutions, methodologies, and technologies that align with business needs.

• Foster connections within the organization and with EY Technology to comprehend requirements and convert them into technical solutions.

• Develop solution proposals that include cost estimates and optimized delivery strategies.

• Offer technical leadership and subject-matter expertise for intricate Azure/Azure Gov products and reusable assets.

• Create high-level technical summaries to facilitate business investment decisions.

• Generate detailed infrastructure and engineering designs that encompass full end-to-end technical solutions.

• Implement technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices across various technology programs, projects, and products.

• Evaluate vendor products and assist in the implementation of vendor delivery models.

• Set architectural direction across multiple projects, build consensus, mediate conflicts, and provide advice to stakeholders.

• Assist teams in addressing complex solution architecture challenges and escalated project issues.

• Oversee project progress and quality, ensuring that solutions adhere to architectural designs.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, and Delivery teams.

• Design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native applications utilizing Azure services and contemporary architectural patterns.

• Establish technical standards, conduct architecture reviews, and guide engineering teams on adherence to design compliance.

• Assess AI use cases and integrate secure AI functionalities into enterprise solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of Azure/Azure Gov architecture, including gateways, firewalls, containers, and Azure DevOps.

• Proven experience in architecting and designing Microsoft-centric technical solutions utilizing Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS capabilities.

• Familiarity with claims-based authentication mechanisms, including SAML, OAuth, OIDC, MFA, JIT, RBAC, or Ping.

• Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Azure DevOps, Ansible, Puppet, Octopus, Chef, or Salt.

• Background in multi-geography, multi-tier service design and management.

• Proficient in data movement and transformation technologies.

• Understanding of cloud security controls, including tenant isolation, encryption, key management, vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, and SIEM.

• In-depth knowledge of application, infrastructure, and security architecture, covering performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.

• Experience in defining, designing, and developing distributed and scalable products and services, including microservices on hybrid or multi-platform clouds.

• Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.

• Strong project management, collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Conceptual and analytical abilities to extract, analyze, and document complex business and technical requirements.

• Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining Top Secret Security clearance.

• Ideally, knowledge of US Government and Public Sector standards, including DFARS, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, CMMC L3, and Cloud Computing SRG.

• Ideally, experience with Azure Government cloud platforms.

• Ideally, familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, SQL, .NET, Java, Python, PHP, Ruby, Perl, or C++.

• Ideally, experience with relational, graph, or unstructured data technologies.

• Ideally, knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, Azure Stream Analytics, SQL Analytics, or Data Lake Analytics.

• Demonstrated experience in designing, architecting, and implementing cloud-native applications on Azure/Azure Gov.

• Practical expertise with Azure App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, AKS, Logic Apps, and integration services.

• Ability to translate business and functional requirements into comprehensive application architectures.

• Strong understanding of performance optimization, resiliency, disaster recovery, and application lifecycle management within Azure.

• Experience in implementing secure application designs aligned with Zero Trust principles, identity integration, managed identities, RBAC, Key Vault, secret management, and US Gov Cloud security frameworks.

• Proven capability to guide engineering teams, enforce architectural standards, and ensure DevSecOps adoption in CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with .NET, Java, Python, or Node.js.

• Advanced English proficiency required.

• A self-starter who demonstrates initiative and can critically and creatively solve problems.

• Comfortable collaborating with culturally diverse outsourced onshore/offshore team members and working outside of normal local hours when necessary.

• Some domestic and international travel may be necessary.
