Senior Azure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain Infrastructure as Code solutions utilizing Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

• Architect, deploy, and oversee Azure cloud infrastructure leveraging Azure-native services and adhering to best practices.

• Establish and maintain Azure networking, which includes VNets, ExpressRoute, VPNs, NSGs, Firewalls, and Private Endpoints.

• Administer Azure identity and access controls through Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, Conditional Access, and PIM.

• Streamline cloud operations utilizing PowerShell, Azure CLI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Enforce security measures, guardrails, and monitoring via Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Sentinel, and Key Vault.

• Observe, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure, performance, security, and operational challenges in production settings.

• Collaborate with business and technology teams, vendors, partners, and brands to create cloud technology solutions.

• Guide clients, partners, and customers through their cloud journey, engaging multiple stakeholders, including senior management.

• Conduct Design & Build sessions and direct cloud configurations and services towards industry-leading standards.

• Evaluate system security vulnerabilities and threats, assess security risks, and offer recommendations for mitigation.

• Acquire knowledge of new technologies and collaborate with engineers to enhance solutions and projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and currently reside in the United States.

• 2-5 years of relevant IT experience.

• 1 year of experience in cloud technologies/platforms or targeted work within a cloud platform.

• Proven experience in building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

• Demonstrated ability to design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Azure-native services and best practices.

• Familiarity with Azure networking, encompassing VNets, ExpressRoute, VPNs, NSGs, Firewalls, and Private Endpoints.

• Experience in managing Azure identity and access controls with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, Conditional Access, and PIM.

• Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in implementing security controls, guardrails, and monitoring with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Sentinel, and Key Vault.

• Knowledge of cloud networking architecture, cloud operations, cloud-based identity access and management, security, automation, and orchestration.

• Understanding of security protocols and standards, along with experience in software and security architectures.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing security tests based on defined criteria.

• Familiarity with both open-source and enterprise relational and NoSQL database engines and frameworks.

• Experience with networking concepts and services, including VPNs, IPsec, PKI, and TCP/IP.

• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP.

• Familiarity with high-availability and failover implementations for network infrastructure and server systems.

• Preferred: Over 3 years of Azure engineering experience.

• Preferred: Experience with Azure Landing Zones and enterprise-scale deployments.

• Preferred: Strong understanding of Terraform and Git-based workflows.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Storage, and Azure networking.

• Preferred: Azure certifications such as AZ-500.

• Preferred: Experience with cloud governance, automation, and security in regulated environments.

• Preferred education: Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science or Information Technology.

• Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Developer Associate, or Azure DevOps Engineer.
