Senior AWS Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design and create comprehensive AWS solutions that meet both business and technical requirements, adhering to AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.

• Develop reference architectures, design patterns, technical standards, architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation roadmaps.

• Lead the implementation of intricate AWS solutions spanning compute, storage, networking, databases, analytics, and security.

• Architect and deploy production workloads utilizing EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, VPC, CloudFront, and associated services.

• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

• Design and implement Terraform infrastructure automation, reusable modules, repositories, and testing methodologies.

• Architect CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments across various AWS environments and accounts.

• Design and implement containerized applications using EKS, ECS, and Kubernetes.

• Enforce container security, service mesh, and observability solutions.

• Integrate AWS AI and machine learning services into cloud architectures while assessing emerging technologies such as MCPs.

• Implement workflow automation utilizing Rundeck, Step Functions, EventBridge, and Systems Manager.

• Create runbooks and automation scripts.

• Devise artifact management and software distribution strategies using JFrog Artifactory.

• Implement AWS security, governance, compliance, IAM, networking, encryption, Organizations, and Control Tower practices.

• Analyze and optimize AWS expenditures using right-sizing, reserved instances, Cost Explorer, Budgets, and third-party tools.

• Mentor engineering teams and conduct architecture reviews.

• Collaborate with development, operations, security, business stakeholders, and leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in IT infrastructure and application architecture.

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions on AWS.

• Proven history of delivering complex, enterprise-scale AWS solutions in production settings.

• In-depth technical expertise across core AWS services including EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, S3, EBS, EFS, RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and security services.

• Strong comprehension of AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars.

• Expert-level proficiency with Terraform.

• Experience in writing modular, reusable infrastructure code and implementing infrastructure testing strategies.

• Understanding of Terraform state management, workspace strategies, and enterprise best practices.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.

• Profound understanding of Kubernetes architecture, pod networking, service discovery, ingress controllers, and cluster management.

• Experience with container security, monitoring, and logging solutions.

• Practical experience with Rundeck.

• Working knowledge of JFrog Artifactory and CI/CD integration.

• Familiarity with AWS AI/ML services including AWS AgentCore, MCPs, SageMaker, and Bedrock.

• Strong scripting and programming abilities in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD.

• Proficiency with Git.

• Understanding of monitoring and observability tools including CloudWatch, X-Ray, and third-party solutions.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification required.

• Additional AWS certifications are highly preferred.

• Preferred: CKA or CKAD certification, multi-cloud experience, familiarity with Azure or GCP, FinOps knowledge, security/compliance frameworks, commercial real estate or professional services experience, and observability platforms such as Datadog, New Relic, or Splunk.
