Senior AWS Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance production infrastructure on AWS.

• Architect and manage Kubernetes/EKS platforms that support production workloads.

• Create reusable infrastructure using Terraform and adhere to Infrastructure as Code principles.

• Develop scalable cloud foundations that include networking, IAM, compute, storage, and managed AWS services.

• Enhance GitOps delivery workflows utilizing tools such as ArgoCD or FluxCD.

• Design and oversee CI/CD automation with tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar technologies.

• Produce reusable platform components, modules, and automation to empower engineering teams for self-service.

• Enhance platform reliability, scalability, security, and performance.

• Implement observability across infrastructure and workloads through metrics, logs, traces, and alerting.

• Diagnose complex production issues spanning Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, networking, and applications.

• Contribute to incident response, root-cause analysis, disaster recovery, and production readiness.

• Identify opportunities for optimizing cloud costs and improving resource utilization.

• Collaborate directly with software engineers, architects, and technical stakeholders on infrastructure and platform decisions.

• Participate in architecture discussions rather than merely executing predefined infrastructure tasks.

• Utilize Python, Bash, or another scripting language to automate operational and platform workflows.

• Aid in establishing engineering standards and best practices across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong professional experience in cloud, platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.

• Extensive hands-on production experience with AWS.

• Solid experience in designing and operating Kubernetes, preferably Amazon EKS.

• Comprehensive commercial experience with Terraform.

• Experience in designing or significantly enhancing production cloud infrastructure, rather than just maintaining current environments.

• Strong grasp of AWS networking, IAM, security, and highly available architectures.

• Familiarity with Docker and containerized workloads.

• Practical experience with GitOps, ideally using ArgoCD or FluxCD.

• Robust CI/CD experience.

• Experience in production observability utilizing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, or OpenTelemetry.

• Expertise in troubleshooting production infrastructure and distributed systems.

• Good knowledge of Linux and networking.

• Experience in automation or scripting with Python, Bash, or Go.

• Understanding of cloud security and least-privilege principles.

• Ability to work independently and assume technical ownership of complex infrastructure.

• Professional working proficiency in English (C1+).
