This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Conduct civil safety evaluations in line with ARP4761, encompassing Functional Hazard Assessments, Preliminary System Safety Assessments, System Safety Assessments, Fault Tree Analyses, and Common Mode Analyses.
• Assist systems, hardware, and software engineering teams in establishing system safety requirements throughout the development phase.
• Review design and development documentation pertaining to safety-critical equipment.
• Evaluate analyses performed by peer safety engineers.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior safety engineers.
• Take responsibility for commitments and obligations to team members and organizational leadership.
• Cultivate and sustain expertise in assigned programs, functions, processes, or technologies.
• Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and organizational leaders to formulate strategic plans.
• Act as a recognized authority in avionics safety.
• Contribute to safety and reliability initiatives for cutting-edge avionics technologies across regional jets, business aircraft, and commercial transports.
• A University Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Background in aircraft systems, hardware, or software engineering.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Familiarity with CAFTA or similar Fault Tree analysis tools is preferred.
• Working knowledge of ARP4761 is preferred.
• Basic understanding of ARP4754A, DO-254, DO-178B/C, and DO-297 is preferred.
• Experience in preparing and presenting technical information to peers, internal management, and external clients is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and presentation abilities are preferred.
• Experience in coordinating projects and complex engineering tasks is preferred.
• Basic knowledge or experience in reliability engineering theory is preferred.
