This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations of medical records and health information to ensure accuracy in hospital outpatient and physician coding.

• Execute audits for ambulatory surgery, emergency room, and other hospital outpatient visits, as well as evaluation/management coding for both technical and professional reporting.

• Deliver educational services to clients and coders based on the findings from audits.

• Analyze audit findings to uncover patterns, trends, and areas of concern.

• Communicate opportunities for initiatives aimed at coder improvement.

• Operate a desktop computer within a virtual, Windows-based office environment.

• Utilize coding books, procedure manuals, and online encoders as reference resources.

• Uphold patient and physician confidentiality while adhering to federal, state, and hospital release-of-information guidelines.

• Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles, as well as relevant government regulations and protocols.

• Engage in staff meetings, training sessions, and conference calls as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS/P or CPC certification.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience, including skills in inpatient and/or outpatient and/or professional fee coding, as well as ambulatory surgery, APC, emergency room, evaluation and management, and auditing.

• Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-10, and/or CPT-4 codes.

• Must possess strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

• Proficient in MS Office applications.

• Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

• Strong communication and writing skills are required.
