Senior Associate, Energy Efficiency, Electrification, Demand Management – Buildings Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Drive building decarbonization efforts nationwide, concentrating primarily on California and the Northeast.

• Contribute to initiatives that facilitate the shift towards clean, efficient, and fully electric buildings.

• Oversee specific workstreams within broader projects.

• Cultivate and manage relationships with external stakeholders.

• Execute research and analysis on energy efficiency, demand flexibility, building electrification, and decarbonization methodologies.

• Identify, manage, and analyze data utilizing innovative approaches.

• Display quantitative data in clear and engaging visual formats.

• Create quantitative models to address research inquiries and client needs.

• Consolidate findings into reports, insight briefs, blogs, presentations, policy briefs, regulatory comments, and other external communications.

• Engage with external experts through interviews, conferences, and collaborative projects.

• Mentor staff in areas of expertise, such as building energy modeling.

• Organize and supervise the work of junior team members.

• Lead projects or portions of projects from conception to execution.

• Develop work plans, manage schedules, coordinate contributions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs.

• Assist in project budgeting, reporting, partner communications, and tracking milestones.

• Establish and maintain relationships with industry representatives and partners.

• Participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, working groups, and conferences.

• Represent RMI in external meetings and public engagements.

• Prepare presentations, articles, webinars, and other external communications.

• Share research findings and recommendations with diverse stakeholder groups.

• Identify emerging market opportunities, risks, and trends.

• Support strategic prioritization, grant proposals, donor reports, RFPs, projects, and partnerships.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in a field associated with the built environment.

• Strong research, modeling, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, particularly with large data sets.

• Capability to convert raw data and complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

• Proven ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across teams.

• Comfort in navigating ambiguity.

• A commitment to promoting equitable and market-based climate solutions.
