This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee the architectural design for extensive hyperscale cloud data center and colocation initiatives from initial concept through construction administration and project closure.
• Collaborate with various engineering disciplines, construction teams, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders to create coordinated design solutions.
• Develop and assess drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client guidelines.
• Coordinate with permitting authorities to facilitate project delivery and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Act as the architectural subject matter expert for hyperscale and colocation clients.
• Mentor and guide junior architects and designers in their professional development.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and the latest trends in data center design.
• Assist in business development, proposal creation, and conceptual designs for new opportunities.
• Engage in a hands-on, client-facing role on global data center projects.
• Travel occasionally for client meetings, project milestones, onsite collaboration, or critical business activities.
• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education.
• Proven experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects.
• Familiarity with building codes, mission-critical infrastructure standards, and data center design specifications.
• Proficiency in BIM ACC (Revit), AutoCAD, and related design tools.
• Active U.S. Architectural license is preferred.
• LEED accreditation or equivalent sustainable design credentials are preferred.
• More than 5 years of experience working with hyperscale client standards and colocation facility delivery models is preferred.
• Experience in dynamic, global project environments is preferred.
• Extensive experience collaborating with permitting authorities and AHJs is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management abilities.
• Capacity to work effectively in multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams.
