This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +1 more state.
• Oversee architectural design for extensive hyperscale cloud data center and colocation initiatives from initial concept to construction administration and project closure.
• Partner with internal engineering teams, construction personnel, and external stakeholders to create coordinated and comprehensive design solutions.
• Create and assess drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Ensure adherence to codes, standards, and client design specifications.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and permitting agencies to facilitate project delivery and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Act as the architectural subject matter expert for hyperscale and colocation clients.
• Guarantee operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability in facility design.
• Mentor and support junior architects and designers.
• Stay informed and apply knowledge of industry best practices and current trends in data center design.
• Assist in business development, proposal writing, and conceptual architectural designs for new projects.
• Collaborate with global AECOM teams on high-profile data center projects.
• Engage in occasional, scheduled travel for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other critical business activities.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education.
• Proven experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects.
• Familiarity with building codes, mission-critical infrastructure standards, and data center design specifications.
• Proficient in BIM ACC (Revit), AutoCAD, and associated design tools.
• Preferred 5+ years of experience working with hyperscale client standards and colocation facility delivery models.
• Active U.S. Architectural license preferred.
• LEED accreditation or equivalent sustainable design credentials preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced, global project environments preferred.
• Extensive experience liaising with permitting authorities and AHJs preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management abilities.
• Capability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not currently available or will not be available in the future.
