Senior Architect – German Speaking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the comprehensive technical architecture for one or more large programs or portfolios.

• Facilitate discovery and design workshops in collaboration with customers.

• Design intricate solutions utilizing PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and the Guidewire Cloud Platform.

• Establish reusable design patterns to support long-term maintainability.

• Ensure alignment of solutions with the customer's cloud strategy, data requirements, performance standards, and security protocols.

• Configure user interfaces, business rules, workflows, and entity models effectively.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance productivity and foster innovation in delivery processes.

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to Architects, Lead Consultants, and Developers.

• Review and confirm implementation designs and configurations.

• Identify technical risks and devise strategies for mitigation.

• Oversee architectural governance processes to maintain consistent quality standards.

• Assist Guidewire and customer teams in diagnosing complex or systemic issues.

• Serve as a reliable technical advisor to customer architecture and leadership teams.

• Present technical solutions and roadmaps to senior stakeholders.

• Aid pre-sales and proposal initiatives by evaluating estimates and architectural feasibility.

• Collaborate with Product, R&D, and Cloud teams to address product inquiries and highlight roadmap requirements.

• Contribute to the development of internal architecture standards, playbooks, and reusable solution assets.

• Mentor junior Architects and cultivate technical leadership within the Professional Services organization.

• Engage in architecture forums and knowledge-sharing sessions.

• Represent Professional Services in cross-functional strategic initiatives or internal pilot projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in enterprise software architecture, including relevant delivery lead experience.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering enterprise solutions within the insurance sector; prior exposure to core insurance platforms (Guidewire or similar) is highly preferred but not mandatory.

• Strong expertise in Java, Gosu, REST APIs, and cloud-native architecture.

• Proven capability to design and scale solutions across various workstreams or regions.

• Proficient in leading architectural governance and code/design review processes.

• Experience in translating business requirements into long-term technology strategies.

• Effective communication skills with customer program management, architects, and development teams.

• Proficiency in Agile delivery methodologies and hybrid cloud implementation strategies.

• Involvement in pre-sales activities, including assessing architectural viability.

• Ability to lead and motivate others through collaborative efforts.

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Multiple Guidewire certifications, including Cloud or Architect credentials.

• Experience in leading multi-region or multi-vendor delivery programs.

• In-depth knowledge of the insurance domain.

• Familiarity with insurance enterprise systems and core domain processes.

• Experience in leading digital transformation or cloud migration initiatives.

• Understanding of enterprise security, compliance, and performance architecture.

• Strong awareness of DevOps practices and experience with cloud automation.

• Contributions to internal frameworks, accelerators, or reusable architecture assets.
