Data Center Architect – Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the architectural Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical consultant for the Owner throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.

• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, design consultants, construction management companies, and general contractors.

• Manage design documents and uphold Owner standards.

• Offer technical insights and evaluate architectural work packages.

• Emphasize life safety/egress, ADA compliance, signage, site planning, and core data center building design.

• Develop and enhance architectural design guidelines, campus planning standards, and prototypical building templates.

• Conduct audits of design consultant deliverables at BOD, 30%, 65%, and 100% project milestones.

• Create and assess architectural scopes of work, design guidelines, and standard operating procedures.

• Generate drawing markups, spatial fit-checks, and conceptual designs.

• Evaluate material substitutions and provide Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) architectural insights.

• Review building envelope specifications and submissions.

• Address construction punch-list items.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related design discipline.

• Over 7 years of experience in architectural design, particularly in large-scale industrial, commercial, or mission-critical facilities.

• Strong comprehension of complex building systems, including high-performance building envelopes, structural coordination, and life safety/fire-rated assemblies.

• Preferred: At least 10 years of professional architectural consulting or design experience as an Owner’s Representative.

• Hands-on design experience with data center infrastructure, command centers, or extensive utility yards.

• Experience in managing large-scale campus master planning, site massing, and intricate space-programming challenges.

• Advanced skills in BIM / Revit workflows for interdisciplinary model coordination and clash detection.

• Professional architectural registration or licensure (e.g., RA, AIA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
