This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Design and implement workflows for production environments that are ambient and interactive.
• Create content enhancements powered by LLM for customer reporting, alerts, and intelligence briefings.
• Direct the technical strategy for services compatible with MCP, including function-calling patterns and multi-step reasoning workflows.
• Make architectural decisions regarding retrieval methods, agents, fine-tuning, smaller models, and traditional NLP approaches.
• Set standards for structured prompting, output schemas, and reusable engineering patterns.
• Develop evaluation practices for LLMs, incorporating offline benchmarks, online experiments, regression detection, and human-in-the-loop reviews.
• Ensure safety, minimize hallucinations, guarantee factual grounding, and maintain output consistency guardrails.
• Foster observability through tracing, cost monitoring, latency budgets, quality metrics, and drift tracking.
• Strive for a balance among model quality, latency, and costs.
• Advance the infrastructure for embedding and semantic search, including chunking, hybrid search, and re-ranking techniques.
• Enhance retrieval relevance within broader agentic frameworks.
• Collaborate with Product and UX teams to deploy customer-facing AI features.
• Lead technical design discussions and represent the AI team in architectural decisions.
• Elevate engineering standards through code reviews, mentorship, and documentation.
• Assess emerging models, frameworks, and techniques, incorporating suitable options into the technology stack.
• Oversee the complete delivery of significant AI features, from conceptualization to production.
• Create reusable tools and patterns to boost LLM development speed and reliability.
• Guide engineers in prompt design, evaluation, and AI system reliability.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in building and operating production software systems.
• At least 2 years of direct experience in shipping LLM-powered features in practical applications.
• Strong backend engineering capabilities, preferably in Python.
• Familiarity with a variety of technologies, including Large Language Model APIs, transformer techniques, embedding models, similarity search, and vector databases like ChromaDB, Pinecone, or Weaviate; along with prompt engineering, structured output techniques, LLM evaluation frameworks, automated testing, and LLMOps practices such as monitoring, versioning, and observability with tools like Langfuse or Datadog.
• Proven track record of owning a system from end to end in a production setting.
• Experience in making and justifying architectural trade-offs, such as model selection, build vs. buy decisions, and balancing latency with quality.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring engineers or leading technical design reviews.
• Proven ability to work closely with Product and UX teams during feature delivery.
• A bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or LangGraph is preferred.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or tool-calling architectures is preferred.
• Experience in developing agentic workflows or tool-using systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of semantic search and content retrieval systems is preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms is preferred.
• Background in media analytics, content intelligence, or large-scale text processing is preferred.
• Experience in startup or high-growth settings is preferred.
